FREEBIES- TIME TICKING BOMB????

                              FREEBIES- TIME TICKING BOMB????

India is the largest democracy in the world. India has 29 states and 8 Union territories. India has elections now and then in many states and union territories. There are numerous political parties in our country. Their main objective is to win the elections and rule a particular state. So many leaders of these political parties try to woo the public during their political campaigns through fiery speeches and by revealing their political manifestos. Their political manifestos mainly focus on the development of the state in all the departments. Sounds Interesting, right??? But there is also a problem with these political manifestos. They have what you famously call "FREEBIES!!!!". These "FREEBIES" play a pivotal role for the political parties to woo the common public and obtain the vote bank.

What are these freebies, why you should be concerned about freebies, and how will they impact the economy of our country? Let us discuss this in detail.

"FREEBIES" is to give something to the public for free or by charging a minimal amount. "FREEBIES" is a strategy commonly used by many political parties to win the elections and to run the government, be it central or state. They assure the people that they will provide some facilities for free like free electricity, free money, free mobile phones, free laptops, loan waivers for farmers, etc. People get attracted to these schemes and fall into the trap of these political parties. People vote for them and make sure that they come into power. Many people will think," Hey, These schemes are good. They focus on the upliftment of economically marginalized people and the abolishment of poverty. What is wrong with that? Why should we not vote for that party? " In reality, these schemes seem to be good at first, but later on, they will cause a problem for the government.

The State government spends insane amounts of money on these FREEBIES and will pile an enormous debt on them. The government prefers spending money on freebies rather than constructing roads, attracting investments, and improving infrastructure. They will take gigantic loans from the banks to pay for the freebies. It will be a burden for the taxpayer. They take bad loans from the banks that will increase the debt tremendously. Finally, the state goes bankrupt. Many countries like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Argentina, Turkiye, and  Lebanon are on the verge of bankruptcy due to terrible economic policies. India fears that most of its states are also staring at bankruptcy. States like Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Kerala spend most of their revenues on these freebies. They owe a lot of debt, live beyond their means, and might be on the edge of bankruptcy. Punjab owes 3 lakh crores, Maharashtra owes 4.7 lakh crores, West Bengal owes 5.62 lakh crores, and Andhra Pradesh owes 4.5 Lakh crores. These numbers seem to be pretty intimidating to the central government. The Central Government and the RBI have warned all these states to reset spending and cut freebies. These States might force people into a crisis and might even destroy India's Economy.

PM Narendra Modi warned people to be aware of the Rewari(Freebie) Culture. We, the future citizens and voters must be aware of these freebies and not fall into a debt trap. These policies might seem attractive but they cause a problem for our nation's economy. We must elect a party that seriously focuses on the nation's development but does not push it to bankruptcy. The Political Parties must act responsibly and not include "FREEBIES" in their political manifestos. Otherwise, We could be facing a Sri Lanka-like economic crisis. FREEBIES are like a TIME-TICKING BOMB. It can explode at any time and will cause a huge disaster. Let us hope the situation changes shortly.
